About Luke Spiller

Mentor, business owner, investor and world watcher

Luke started his career as a plumber. A strong entrepreneurial drive pushed him into starting his
own business at 19 and again at 22. He began working on a variety of global AID projects and partnerships throughout the Asia/Indo-Pacific region. These experiences exposed a wide variety of cultures, customs and economic conditions which challenged Luke’s view of both the world and himself. This became a catalyst to a more inclusive view of development in which education became a primary focus.

“Supporting and promoting individuals that embrace extreme ownership and resilience is critical.”

After the sale of his successful business in Australia, he completed an MBA at UQ, Cert of Water & Sanitation Policy in Developing Countries at The University of Manchester, Cert Agriculture, Economics and Nature at The University of Western Australia.

Luke established a shipping company in Sri Lanka, developed a charity focussing on retraining women and children rescued from human trafficking in Indonesia and continues to mentor emerging executives from around the world as a University Lecturer.

The last decade has seen Luke rubbing shoulders with high-profile politicians from around the world, successful and emerging business owners and engaging with grassroots people that bear the brunt of policy decisions. This has contributed to the redefining of his meaning of leadership, personal peace and financial success.

Luke continues to invest in a variety of industries, based upon macro and micro-economic indicators. He has even commenced working on a blockchain project specifically designed to reduce corruption in the construction industry.

Luke attributes his success to surrounding himself with individuals that build high-performing teams that both challenge him and remain open to being challenged by him. Supporting and promoting individuals that embrace extreme ownership and resilience is critical. He embraces, promotes and applies these tenets in each of his personal and business engagements.

Luke believes that a new capitalist system is emerging, one that requires a new type of professional leadership approach that is rarely taught in formal institutions. Agility, Visionary, Sovereignty and Empathy are of vital importance. Luke is committed to building these attributes as a youth volunteer, as well as mentoring teams in India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bhutan, Kenya and the U.S.A.
